Brian ‘Bic’ Healey
28 July 1925 – 6 April 2014
It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that our Club President, and one of the founder members, Brian ‘Bic’ Healey has passed away. He died peacefully on 6th April in St Austell Hospital with his family by his side.
Bic’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday 16th April at 3.00pm at the Parish Church of St Piran, Perranzabuloe, Penhallow. The Church is situated on the A3075 between Goonhavern and Chiverton roundabout, and is a couple of miles outside the village of Perranporth. For those using Satnav, the postcode is TR49LQ, and which will take you to the Whitehouse Inn opposite the Church. The Church has very limited parking, and the Inn has agreed that we may use the lower part of their car park.
Following the service, the family invites you to join them at Healey’s Cyder Farm. The farm is located on the same road as the Church (the A3075), and is about a mile or so west of the Church. A Cornish Cream Tea will be followed by a light supper for those who are able to stay a little longer, and to raise a glass or two to Bic.
For those who wish to stay overnight, the Seiners Arms (01872 573118) and Ponsmere hotel (01872572225) in Perranporth have rooms, some beach/sea facing. Alternatively, the Whitehouse Inn (01872 573306) in Penhallow also has accommodation.
The family looks forward to seeing you on 16th April, and to celebrating Bic’s life with you. No black ties are required, please, family flowers only. Any charity donations care of the undertaker - John Nicholls (Contact Bob Chudleigh).
